LONDON: FREDERICK WARNE, 1895 Bottle green Victorian decorative cloth boards with gilt and black blocked illustration and titles, 205 x 150 mm approx, all edges of book block gilt, publisher's monographed end papers, 216 pp Frontis. with tissue guard + 11 other illustrations by R W Macbeth of which 3 full page with guards all as called for. VG (Book- mild general shelf wear to cloth- negligible soiling, gilt particularly bright with no rubbing, ink gift insc. dated 1895 to reverse of front end paper, tissue guards somewhat browned/foxed with light foxing to margins generally. No other defects). A very handsome example of Victorian Decorative cloth binding.
