About This Item
Two sheets, approximately 8 x 11 inches each, one plain laid paper (Bufalo), the other with the watermark of Amalfi papermaker F. Lucibello and two embossed tax stamps of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (Rinoceronte). The two images are from Domenico Gazzadi and Antonio Baschieri, Zoologia morale esposta in cento venti discorsi, published in Florence by Vincenzo Batelli, 1843-46. The buffalo appears to be a letter to a family loved one, while the rhinoceros is part of a multi-page document.

About Archway Books
I have over thirty years experience as a full-time bookseller, ten years as owner of a brick and mortar shop and twenty-one on the internet and at book shows. My particular interest is in books and other printed objects as agents or artifacts of social upheaval and cultural clash.
