Two parts.  8vo. 210 x 130 mm., [8 ¼ x 5 ¼ inches].  One of the parts has 22 pages of specimens , the other 6 pages.  All are captioned and dated, and the series concludes with "Palm blessed by the Pope, Palm Sunday 1864.  In good condition, a remarkable survival in the original paper wrappers.


A delicate collection of botanical specimens preserved on coated paper, from a trip that included stops at Cicero's villa in Tusculum, Pozzuoli, Lake Agnano outside Naples, leaves from the tomb of Virgil near Naples, Amalfi, the Villa Reale in Naples, Fiesole, Monte Cavo, Galileo's Tower, Hadrian's Villa and Rome.  Very beautifully done.
