Chicago, IL: January 23, 1933., 1933.. Very good. - Over 90 words typed on 5-1/2 inch high by 8-1/4 inch wide Chicago Daily News letterhead. O'Brien writes to lecture circuit manager James B. Pond of the Pond Bureau and complains humorously about lecturing: "I'll give the ladies of the Friends of American Writers one last treat, and then crawl into my silent hole". There is minor darkening to the edges of the paper else it is in near fine condition.

Howard Vincent O'Brien (1888-1947) was an American novelist and columnist for the Chicago Daily News. He is best remembered for his autobiography "Wine, Women and War" which he published anonymously. He was a World War 1 veteran, and for many years he contributed his column "All Things Considered" to the Chicago Daily News".
