Description:
This Book is the second of a two-volume set written by former U.S. President, Harry Truman after he left office. This Book, Volume Two, was published one year later than Volume One, which was published in 1955. This Volume details the many issues facing President Truman in the aftermath of World War II, the reorganization of the War Department into the Department of Defense, the rise of Communism in many countries, the Cold War, his close election victory over Dewey in 1948, the organization of NATO, the Korean War and the firing of General MacArthur. This Volume is also important because Truman offers hope for mankind even as the Cold War escalates in the 1950's. Volumes are being sold separately because they were published in different years.
