The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs, and black and white illustrations. Photographic cover with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the backstrip. A history of U-boat warfare during world War two, the cost (both for the Allies and for the Germans), the men and equipment, arranged year by year. Creasing to the book corners and reading. Creases to the backstrip. Rubbing of the book panels and there is a 0.25" split to the lower right-hand corner of the backstrip. Very light age toning of the textblock edges. As with all books in the series of publications the glue is fragile and care needs to be taken when opening the book. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 160 pages.
