Paris: Mercure de France, 1896. First Edition. Very Good. First edition of the play which opened the door for Dadaism, Surrealism and the Theatre of the Absurd. In contemporary marbled paper boards over vellum spine with titles neatly hand-painted in red and black; with original front and rear wraps bound in. Very Good with rubbing to the binding, contents toned, small abrasion to the front pastedown, chipping to gutter of title page.
