New York: E.P. Dutton & Company, Inc, 1930. First edition. Hardcover. John Vassos. Quarto [26.5 cm] Red cloth with bold gilt stamped titles and gilt, white and black ink decorative patterns on the front cover. Very good. The covers are very subtly concave, and the spine ends and edges of the covers are lightly rubbed. The front cover is very mildly darkened, and is just a little stained. Minor spine lean. The cloth at the spine ends and corners is slightly frayed. The edges of the text block are a bit foxed. Tanned pages. The book is sturdy. The illustrator, John Vassos, was the designer of the exterior of the RCA Corporation's first television set. In addition, he designed American pavilions for numerous international fairs and illustrated 14 books.
