Philadelphia:: F.A. Davis, 1928., 1928. 8vo. [iv], 258, [8] pp. Index; some minor stains. Green blind- and gilt-stamped cloth; stained covers. Generally very good. This work is arranged in three parts. I: 'The healing properties of natural and artificial sunlight', using ultra-violet rays as a therapy. Those therapies included obesity, blood-pressure, gall-stones, Grave's Disease, symptoms of old age, etc. II: The treatment of falling hair b the ultra-violet rays. III: The treatment by the quartz light of graying hair. / Lorand was a physician to the spa at Carlsbad, Austria-Hungary during the early 20th century. He was also a longevity researcher who has been described as a pioneer of modern geriatric medicine.

Owner name neatly penned on front pasted endpaper, no other markings. Top edge "dusty" and 2 leaves with corner creases but otherwise pages are fine. Endpapers toned. Bound in green cloth hardcover, blind embossed rules on front cover, gilt spine lettering. Faint spotting to upper portion of front cover and what appears to be thin line of ink along front hinge but otherwise cover is clean with only light edge rub. Binding firm, hinges intact, boards and spine straight. 6 x 9-1/4"; 258 pages plus 5 pages publisher's ads.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
