About This Item

31 pp. Black & white illus. throughout. 4to, pictorial wrappers, staple-bound. Glendale, CA: Umbrella Associates, 1979.

A scarce exhibition catalogue, published for Hoffberg's famous "Umbrella" show. From Hoffberg's text on the inside wrapper: "This catalog documents an exhibition of correspondence art related to the theme of 'Umbrella,' presented at the University of Art Galleries, University of California at Riverside, under the direction of Kirk de Gooyer...

"The theme of 'Umbrella,' originated from the newsletter, Umbrella, which I edit and publish, a newsletter on current trends in contemporary art. In addition to reproductions of some of the art presented in the exhibition, we are providing a list of participants in the show."

In fine condition, with the original printed envelope, addressed to Eleanor Kent, as well as the mailed invitation postcard.
