Jules Verne's adventure novels are some of the most popular and famous works of literature of all time. Dick Sand, a teenager, must take control of a ship after the captain dies; he encounters shipwrecks, slaves, and experiences revenge all in this popular Verne novel.

Note on dating: like many other Verne first editions, the title page included was issued in each edition, including later printings. This particular 1888 edition includes ads that advertise for the releases in the 1889 print year.
