Paris: Michel Levy Freres, 1853. Hardcover. Very Good -. Sixiéme édition. [2], 257, [1] p.; 18 cm. Contemporary half leather with five spine compartments between raised bands. Gilt-tooled spine title in second compartment; gilt-tooled decoration on raised bands. Marbled paper ove boards; marbled endpapers. Publisher's list of Bibliotheque Contemporaine facing title page. The author, Ãmile Souvestre (1806-1854), was a prolific novelist in France between 1836 and his death in 1854. In Very Good- Condition: edges are rubbed; faint number written at tail of spine; leather along spine slightly discolored; light foxing throughout; otherwise, clean and tight.
