Some loose signatures but still holding by one strand (See photos) 231 pages plus 8 pages of advertisements. An intermediate state of the first edition with 1890 on the title page and 1891 on the copyright page with the word presumptious, last line, p. 9 (presumptive in the first state) and contains the review of the present title in the advertisements at the end (the review is not present in the first state).
