Boston, MA: Phillips & Sampson. Good. 1846. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. B&W Illustrations; This book is in Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book has several smallish to medium sized chips the the spine ends and front spine joint. The corners have bumping, rubbing and fraying to the cloth. There are several spots of discoloration to the rear covers. The text pages are generally clean and bright, though there are spots of foxing and finger dirt throughout. The front and rear endpapers have a previous owner's ink stamped initials and hand inked name and address. "George Trask (1798- 1875) , a Congregational clergyman who had graduated from Bowdoin College and Andover Theological Seminary, was active in many reforms, including abolition, peace, and temperance; he also agitated with special vehemence against the use of tobacco." (The Letters of William Lloyd Garrison vol. 5) .
