"John Hay" is written in a thinner line, meaning the book was first signed, then later inscribed on a different occasion by Hay. Blurbs by James Dickey and Annie Dillard. Fine book in near fine jacket, slightly offset on the spine, with very light wear to some corners, one small chip/tear to the top of spine (an eighth of an inch), a few minor spots of rubbing/soiling.

Rural Hours (formerly Wood + River = Books, est. 2019) specializes in ecology, natural history, nature writing, the environment, environmental literature, and contemporary essay, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions.
