Large, heavy book, dark blue cloth with gilt illustration and silver title on front--very fine, very good on spine, 546 pages plus 19-page index. DJ has red-tinted photo of Iwo Jima flag rising, white and blue bands at top, spine slightly faded, info on History of Modern World series edited by Allan Nevins on back. DJ has light wear at bottom front edge, microtear with very slight wear at spine bottom edge, light rubbing to blue band at top back. Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
