Growing out of Transcendentalism and becoming a part of the New Thought movement, Charles felt the need to further his practice and chose to bring Vegetarianism to the practice. The cookbook recipes range across the broad spectrum of food preparation, including salads and salad dressings, meat substitutes, sandwiches, soups, sauces, desserts, drinks, breads, and much more.
