About This Item

New York: Hachette, 2021. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. First edition, first printing. Fine, fresh, unread copy in equally fine dust jacket. Hardcover. 403 pp. with index. Illustrated with photographs. Autobiographical work by musician/actor Stevie Van Zandt. A New Jersey native, Van Zandt developed his obsession with rock and roll during the heyday of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Early on he mey Bruce Springsteen, "...a like-minded freak/misfit/outcast who became one of his best friends and bandmates...". After years with the E-Street band, as "Little Steven" he became a political activist with particular concern over South African aparteid. By the 90s, Van Zandt had lived at least two lives, one as a rocker and one as a hard-core activist---then a third life began when David Chase invited him to be part of a new television show. "The Sopranos". He starred as Silvio Dante, Tony Soprano's unconditionally loyal consigliere.
