First Edition. The first history of Marine Corps aviation from Henderson Field on Guadalcanal to the metal airstrip at Khe Sanh in Vietnam. With more than 200 rarely seen photographs. Signed presentation from Mersky on the front endpaper, to a famous aviation historian: "To Walt Boyne- Thanks for your help with this book- hope you enjoy it- Peter Mersky. 25 Oct. 83." Boyne was an author, an aviation historian, chairman of the Wingspan Channel, and founder and former director of the National Air & Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. A terrific association copy and books signed by Mersky are uncommon! Fine in very nice d/j. $125.00.
