"Tadeusz Henryk Rolski was born on August 18, 1906, in Przeworsk, Poland, and passed away on September 27, 1991, in Warsaw. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Polish Air Force. Rolski began his military career in 1930, initially serving as an observer in the 54th Squadron of the 5th Air Regiment. After completing pilot training, he served in various capacities, including as a tactical officer and squadron commander. During World War II, he participated in the September Campaign in Poland, during which he achieved two confirmed aerial victories. He was later sent to Romania to receive French and British aircraft, but the planes never arrived. Rolski eventually made his way to France and then to the United Kingdom. In the UK, he organized and commanded the 306 "Toruń" Squadron and later became the commander of the 1st Polish Fighter Wing, making him the first non-British Commonwealth commander of a wing in the RAF. He was also the first non-Briton to be awarded the Distinguished Service Order.

After the war, Rolski returned to Poland and worked for the Polish airline PLL LOT until he was dismissed for political reasons in 1949. He later worked in the Civil Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport. Rolski authored a book about his wartime experiences titled "Uwaga, wszystkie samoloty!" ("Attention, All Planes!"). He was posthumously honored with the "Witness of History" award by the Institute of National Remembrance in Rzeszów on October 18, 2019. A street in Przeworsk bears his name, and the 22nd Command and Control Center in Bydgoszcz was named in his honor in 2008."- Wikipedia [translated from Polish] ¶  World War, 1939-1945 -- Aerial operations, British.
