Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1898. Very good copy, with sound hinges. Light gray green cloth, with spine darkening. Stamped in dark green in cover and spine with gilt stamping on spine (dulled). Eight plates, one by Howard Pyle. Photo frontis of the author is one of the eight with the tissue guard intact. 12 pages of advertisements 541 pages. Stated "Popular Edition" and over all a good solid copy of a classic work by a Polish author. The letter facsimile by the author is bound in the book discouraging other companies from publishing the book. One volume edition, from which a successful film was made. Previous owner's last name in ink in upper right corner of front free endpaper. A bit of spine end rubbing, buy minimal. This is the original authorized translation from the Polish by Jeremiah Curtain.. Illus. by Plates. 8vo. Early Printing. Hard Back. Very Good.

We also have a nice selection of high quality facsimile dust jackets done etching and engraving artist John Anthony Miller (all jackets are marked tastefully that they are facsimile jackets, printed on high quality non acidic paper using the finest inks that will last a lifetime with care).
