About This Item
Moscow & Leningrad: Union of Soviet Composers & VAAP. Stapled Brochure. Fine Minus. These historical brochures are exceedingly scarce mementos of the distinguished Soviet composer, noted for his early successes in the "neo-folklore wave". A student of Orest Evlakhov, he graduated with honors from the Leningrad Conservatory in 1964. Throughout his career, his music was imbued with a vocal neo-romanticism. CONTENTS: biographical information plus a chronological list of principal works through 1976 and 1986. 5 & 12 pages. The later brochure also includes, for its time, information on Recordings, Publications, and Performances. CONDITION: bright, unmarked, uncreased copies with minimal shelf-wear. These treasures are now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board. They will be shipped with a complimentary upgrade to trackable First Class on domestic (US) orders. NOTE: I have such brochures for over a hundred other Soviet-era composers, most priced in the $10-20 range (a few only available in the Russian-language OR English version). Feel free to inquire.
