Edinburgh: Privately Printed by the Author, 1950. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good +/Good + . Yellow cloth boards with gilt titles on spine and pasted title label on front. Original coloured dust jacket in good+ condition with some chips to the top edge. 106pp. Minor age spots to the upper edge, generally the inner book in near fine condition. McEwen was a soldier, diplomat and politician based in Scotland and a number of these poems were originally published in the Sunday Times during the Second World War. These include poems from the First World War, ballads, sonnets etc. Signed by the author with dedication on front end paper.
