Sections include philosophy of medicine, medical history, medical education, medical practice, and a miscellany. INSCRIBED by Middleton to a friend & colleague on the free endsheet: "to my good friend, Dr. Raymond Whitsitt, with warm personal esteem -- Wm. Middleton" in a very shaky hand, dated 1975, the year of Middleton's death. Stated first printing. Hardcover, full black cloth, gilt titling. Light wear to book, Whitsitt's name & address inside front cover; jacket rubbed with minor edgewear including a few short tears & minor creasing. Text clean; xi, blank, 300 pages + colophon; color frontispiece tipped in.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 6½" by 9½".
