Green cloth covered boards with stamped spine titles with black bordered armorial design with gilt titles inside on front. Bindings firm with a hint of a shelf lean. Light shelf handling with rubbed corners and spine tips. Text clean with toning heavier at the edges. Previous owner's name on front paste-down. A small white sticker on verso of title page, believe it is closing a closed tear or thin spot. Did not attempt removal. Minor dampstain text block near lower spine tip.
First Edition, First Issue. Illustrated with frontispiece and 3 more plates. 12mo; 71/4 x 4 13/16., -249. Frontispiece and 3 plates inserted. White laid-paper endpage, no advertisements 1st Issue.

Richard Harding Davis was an American journalist and writer of fiction and drama, known foremost as the first American war correspondent to cover the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. His writing greatly assisted the political career of Theodore Roosevelt.
