Green cloth covered boards with stamped spine titles with black bordered armorial design with gilt titles inside on front. Bindings firm with a hint of a shelf lean. Light shelf handling with rubbed corners and spine tips. Text clean with toning heavier at the edges. Previous owner's name on front paste-down. A small white sticker on verso of title page, believe it is closing a closed tear or thin spot. Did not attempt removal. Minor dampstain text block near lower spine tip.
 
First Edition, First Issue. Illustrated with frontispiece and 3 more plates. 12mo; 71/4 x 4 13/16., -249. Frontispiece and 3 plates inserted. White laid-paper endpage, no advertisements 1st Issue.
Ref: Blank 4512. Richard Harding Davis was an American journalist and writer of fiction and drama, known foremost as the first American war correspondent to cover the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. His writing greatly assisted the political career of Theodore Roosevelt.
