About This Item

New York: A.J. White, Druggist, 1888. Duodecimo-sized booklet, 32 pages. Illustrated. An almanac, issued by the A.J. White company, advertising their products which were licensed from, and in some cases, made by the Shakers. Testimonials throughout praise Siegel's Syrup (Extract of Roots). The date is drawn from the fact that this serves as an almanac for 1889, and the last testimonial given is dated November. 1888. Includes profiles of some of the country's top chefs, mostly those in private service. Age-toning to wrapper and pages, otherwise fine. [OCLC locates ten copies; Richmond, Shaker Literature 335].
