London, United Kingdom: Martin Hopkinson & Co, 1926. Originally published in Japan 1913. A German-Canadian sailor best known for sailing around the world in a modified dug-out canoe he named Tilikum. His voyage was undertaken between 1901 and 1904 , his experiences on the New Zealand Coast and in Invercargill, Lyttelton, Christchurch, Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Nelson, Napier, Gisbourne, Auckland etc. CONDITION Blue bds with bright gilt title, map liners, pp xvi 326 with 15 half tone photo plates, maps and plans. Lightly rubbed to spine ends and tips, name on title page light scattered foxing though mostly crisp and bright copy.. 2nd Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
