London, 1784. Full-Leather. Very Good. Very good in full leather binding with red leathr title labels to spine together with volume number and decorations stamped in gold to spine. Volumes 1 and 2 were published in 1784; volumes 3 and 4 in 1785 "A Londres." Binding is in remarkably tight with no cracks to interior, although one signature in volume one is loosening. Vol 1 has xiii+310p.); Vol. 2 ([i-iv]+377p.); Vol. 3 ([i-iv]+379p.; Vol. 4 [[i+iv]+388p.+errata for volume 1). Original ribbon bookmarks attached. Only Vol. 2 has a surface tear to the spine. Only 2 volumes have cracks in leather to spine (Volume 2 to rear hinge with 2 short closed surface tears along fold to back board and to Volume 4, a 1/2 inch surface tear along top edge of rear hinge). Boards show light rubbing and light soiling and moderate wear to extremities. Light dampstain to top edge of first and last few pages of Vol. 1; darkening to top edge of pages of Vol. 2 plus 4 stray small stains to foredge; dampstains to Vol. 3; very light dampstain toward bottom edge of pages of Vol. 4. Text in French.
