SCARCE 1781 edition of this 18th century study of Italy, volume one of this travel memoir written by the author as he was travelling with the 8th Duke of Hamilton from 1772 to 1776. In publisher's original full calf leather with gilt decorating to spine and black label lettered in gilt on spine. Clean, unmarked, bright pages (little to no tanning). Binding very good, all pages intact. Leather corners bumped; spine wear on crown and heel, and piece of leather missing from mid-spine area. Volume 1 only (2 volumes in complete set). Prev. owner signature, dated 1760. Additional photos upon (email) request. For shipping, book will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in a clean box. We ship internationally.
