About This Item

In English (also available in French). Folio, 50x70 cm, printed on special hand-crafted paper; in slip-case; net weight 2200 gr.

The French painter and engraver Theodore Aligny travelled in Greece in 1844. His drawings immortalised ancient monuments and landscapes of Athens, Attica, Corinth and the Cyclades. In 1845 an album (in folio) was published in Paris with ten engravings of his drawings and an introduction. This edition is an identical copy of the original French edition. The preface is written by Pandelis Prevelakis.
