About This Item
A handsome and little-known piece of fine printing, in the service of the Hungarian/British printmaker and wood engraver George Buday, a fellow of the Society of Wood-Engravers. First Edition, hand-numbered No. 93 of 250 copy, signed by Gielgud and Buday on the limitation page.
Description: Original quarter cream cloth over black marbled-paper covered boards. Gilt lettering on spine. Quarto: 27 × 22 cm; pp. 49, [1]. With 22 wood-engravings printed in black. 'Large paper' copies on W S Hodgkinson handmade paper with Millbourn Lexpar handmade endpapers, printed at the Westminster Press. Top edge cut, fore- and bottom edges uncut.
Condition: Externally excellent with just some minor abrasions and marks of usage. Internally quite fine. An excellent copy.
