10.8 X 8.8 (27.3 X 27.5). [2]; half-title; edition and signature page; title; publisher's page; engraving dedication; pp.7-50; [4]. Marbled boards with fabric spine detail. Gilt spine details including publisher, title and a author. Hand cut pages. Interior pages are clean and bright. Binding is solid. Minor tear to back free endpaper, Bumped corners and small specks of discolouration on fabric.
"A Latin poem of no discernible date, variously assigned to the 2nd, 4th or 5th centuries and attributed by some commentators to Tiberianus". Describes the awakening of the vegetable and animal world through the "benign post-Lucretia goddess". Notable for its Romanticism, marking the transition between Classical Roman and medieval poetry. Its 93 verses are divided into strophes of unequal lengths.
