London: The Scolar Press, 1978. First Edition Thus. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Near Fine. Thomas Bewick. 12mo. Pp. 167. Illustrated with reproductions of engravings printed recto following 25 pages of text. Half cloth binding over light green boards, gilt title in black label printed on spine, light green laid endpapers. Illustrated dust jacket printed on laid paper, unclipped. Top corner bumped, dust jacket edges faintly rubbed, else fine. Reprint of the 1827 collection, supplemented with additional tail-pieces. Introduction, notes and appendix by foremost Bewick scholar Iain Bain who headed the Tate Gallery publications department 1972 - 1994. Dust jacket preserved in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
