About This Item
Connecticut: The Warren Press, 1956. A single letterpress printed card dedicated to Bobchen Haas. A previously unpublished portrait of Robert Bartlett Haas, produced by Stein in Paris in 1938, and being the first appearance of the poem "A Village, are you ready yet not yet..." In its original envelope, and accompanied by a small note in green ink:
Four is a four is a four is a four in America is a fact is completed completely presently to a completion and all pleasant things to you. Always. Vicomte de P[uissy]" Little can be discovered regarding the accompanying poetic note, but the poem itself was not published in large numbers, and is seldom seen in its original envelope.
