About This Item

Rice, Anne. Violin. Alfred A. Knopf. 1997. First Trade Edition. Book of the Month Club Main Selection. Hardcover with dust jacket. Black boards with gilt title, author and publisher design along spine. 6.5 X 9.5. [3] half-title; title; PP.3-289 [6].

Written by novelist Anne Rice, Violin moves away from her well-known world of vampires in order to explore the depths of grief, loneliness and ghosts. This time-bending tale follows a newly widowed Triana, the spirit of a talented violinist and one of history's greatest composers. "Violin is crowded with the history, the drama, the invention, and the romantic intensity that have become synonymous with Anne Rice at her incomparable best".

Anne Rice (1941-2021) was born Howard Allen Frances O'Brien and found fame as an American novelist, best known for The Vampire Chronicles and her work in gothic fiction. Rice' books have sold more than 100 million copies and have been adapted for film, television, stage plays and even comic books.

Synopsis

ANNE RICE is the author of twenty-one books. She lives in New Orleans with her husband, the poet and painter Stan Rice.
