About This Item

The Violins of Saint-Jacques by Patrick Leigh Fermor Hardback, 1953, first edition, first print, published by John Murray/Derek Verschoyle, London, 139 pages. Measures 8 7/8" by 5 3/4 by 3/4". Dust jacket has upper sections of front cover area and spine torn and missing, with some chipping to rear and tearing at edges. Also marking and scuffing to jacket with disclouration to spine area. A removable clearsleeve dust jacket cover has been applied to prevent further degradation. Green cloth binding with faded gilt lettering to spine, considerable discolouration towards upper edge of front board (with a little foxing) and to extremities generally and spine. Binding reasonably firm. Page edges browned, scuffed, a little foxed and otherwise marked. Some marking and a little foxing to endpapers, occasional light foxing throughout and some library signs, markings, but pages contain no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for more information.
