Pictorial dust jacket, green paper covered boards, illustrated endpapers. This was Fermor's first novel. The book was originally published in 1953 and revolves around the themes of decadence, the fading elegance of the 19th century, and forces that are beyond human control. A very good copy in dust jacket. The jacket, with the original $7.95 price, has a bump and tear at the base of the spine and light edge wear elsewhere.
