Richmond, VA: Garrett and Massie, Inc., 1961. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Original price of $3.50 still present on the front flap. DJ had been reinforced with masking tape on the underside - the tape itself has fallen off with the stain from the glue can be seen on the outside of the jacket as well as reacting with the paper on the end pages. Inscribed and signed by the author on the front end page: " To: Admiral and Mrs. Abe, two dear natural people, tried and true friends of J. Sumner Wood Sr.". Binding is tight, no other handwriting noted, no torn or loose pages. Foxing is noted on page exterior as well as interior end pages up to the title page. First edition thus.
