In 2003, Alexander McQueen visited the New York offices and gallery of Visionaire to discuss collaborating on an issue of the magazine - an issue that sadly was never to be. "Visionaire No. 58: Spirit" is a tribute to McQueen's genius and legacy. It gathers images inspired by the designer from contributors Craig McDean, David Sims, Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Lady Gaga, Matthew Williams, Mario Sorrenti, Mario Testino, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Nick Knight, Philip Treacy, Sean Ellis, Sebastian Faena, Steven Klein, and Steven Meisel that have been printed on paper embedded with wildflower seeds, so that when planted, watered and exposed to sunlight, the pages will blossom. "Spirit" is presented in a slipcase that is wrapped in an Alexander McQueen metalized brocade that was featured in the designer's Spring/Summer show of 2010. One of Visionaire's most brilliant and gift-worthy concepts to date, "Spirit" offers up a unique opportunity for artist, nature and reader to collaborate with one another, and celebrates the greatness of one of fashion's greatest and most iconoclastic talents". Visionaire is a transmedia company that publishes a magazine under the same name of Visionaire that concepts, curates, and produces art multiples, events, public art installations, film, branded content, apparel, and publications. Visionaire focuses on the cross-pollination of art, fashion, film, and contemporary culture as a tool to communicate unique experiences to viewers and visitors, across multiple platforms, in physical spaces, online, and mobile. Visionaire has a deep and developed network of artists, photographers, fashion designers, models, celebrities, filmmakers, writers, agents, editors, collectors, galleries, and museums. Artists work in collaboration with Visionaire to produce interpretations on a theme, and are given freedom to push Visionaire's original formats. ; 12 pages .
