PHYLLIS GALEMBO is a photographer and professor of art at the University at Albany, State University of New York. She has had one-person exhibitions at the International Center of Photography and the American Museum of Natural History in New York City and the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. Galembo is also the author of Divine Inspiration from Benin to Bahia and Dressed for Thrills: 100 Years of Halloween and Masquerade Costumes. Gerd?ÉÄ?s Fleurant is a professor of musicology at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He is also a practicing Vodou priest and the author of DANCING SPIRITS: RHYTHMS AND RITUALS OF HAITIAN VODOU, THE RADA RITE (Greenwood, 1996).
