The product of 30 years of research, this book will make you see the coyote on a whole different plane. Dobie pens what he calls a "biography" of the coyote by tracing this mysterious and exciting animal through history and weaving together entertaining stories of fact, fiction, science and imagination. This collection of tales will not only make you laugh, but will introduce you to a fascinating animal whose true colors come shining through after centuries of being misunderstood.
Dobie was born in 1888 on his family's cattle ranch in Live Oak County. During his long life, J. Frank Dobie would live astride two worlds: a rugged life on a Texas cattle ranch and the state's modern centers of scholarly learning. By the late 1920s, Dobie discovered his mission: to record and publicize the disappearing folklore of Texas and the greater Southwest. Dobie became secretary of the Texas Folklore Society, a position he held for 21 years.

About River House Books
I found hundreds of nice dust jackets with no books to cover. Need one for your library? Have a look at that category!
Have some dust jackets to sell? Drop me a line!
I ship domestically in the US using the Post Office and internationally using consolidation services. Books are always wrapped then packed in cardboard boxes with padding to protect the contents. International shipments are double boxed with shipping paperwork attached to the outside of the box using a special envelope. And a complete duplicate of all the paperwork packed inside the outer box in case the attached set wanders off.
Previous international shipments to Austria, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Spain, Sweden, UK --> Help me fill in my international bingo card!
