1st edition, 1954. 315 pages with 9 illustrations. The author was a clerk employed by John Jacob Astor to work at the mouth of the Columbia River in the Northwest from 1810-1814. The trip, by boat, started in Montreal and ended at Fort Astoria after passing through New York, the Falkland Isles and Hawaii. The book is in fine condition.
