Cloth 21 cm (Including dustjacket)(The bibliophile edition of an anthology of byzantine and medieval latin hymns translated into Dutch by J.W. Schulte Nordholt. He also provided an introduction and notes. This little gem was published to celebrate the 75th birthday of Schulte Nordholt. Jan Willem Schulte Nordholt, 1920-1995, was professor of the history and culture of North America. He is in the Netherlands best known as a poet. He was also a great translator of byzantine and medieval church hymns. Many of them found their way into the 'Liedboek voor de Kerken'. On the dustjacket a signed woodcut print by the the Belgian artist Renaat Bosschaert.
