Boston: The Horn Book, Inc., 1944. Lovely little book in off-white bukram cover that is slightly soiled and shows some slight water damage around top edge of cover back and front. Has tipped-in wood-cut illustration of little cottage and red type. Inside endpapers are beautiful red floral pattern and facing cover page has tipped-in photo of Potter with little girl and dog. Title page in two colors and initial letters of sections are in red. Woodcuts are really special. Colophon notes that this first edition is set in Scotch Roman and printed in Flemish Book laid paper at the printing press of Thomas Todd on Beacon Hill in Boston. Deckled pages. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/None. Illus. by J.J. Lankes. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" Tall.
