Sturdy, still tightly bound softcover copy, minor wear of burgundy softpaper wraps, less to text-block, but with neither underlining nor highlighting. Perfectly readable, usable copy. 16 pp., printed title to front wrap. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound. Stated First Edition. This was another of Muriel Rukeyser's justly acclaimed works of poetry. Muriel Rukeyser (December 15, 1913 â February 12, 1980), according to her Wikipedia entry, "was an American poet, essayist, biographer, and political activist. She wrote poems about equality, feminism, social justice, and Judaism. Kenneth Rexroth said that she was the greatest poet of her 'exact generation.'" Her collection, The Book of the Dead (1938) was an homage to all of the miners who lost their lives to silicosis in an industrial disaster.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
