New York: The Macmillan Company, 1948. First Edition. Near Fine/Near Fine. First edition, first printing. Signed by B. F. Skinner and inscribed to a former owner on the title page. Bound in publisher's original black cloth with spine lettered in gilt. Near Fine with light wear to cloth, tanning to pages. Endsheets offset with browning along bottom edges, small nick to edge of title page. In a Near Fine with front flap corners machine clipped and $3.00 price present, darkening to bottom of flaps, light wear to the extremities and several edge tears. Signed copies of the first edition are uncommon.
Synopsis
Walden Two is a "science fiction" novel written by behavioral psychologist B. F. Skinner and first published in 1948. In that novel, the author describes an experimental community named Walden Two. The community is located in a rural area and "has nearly a thousand members. " The members are portrayed as happy, productive, and creative.
