About This Item

Random House, 1963. Hardcover. Excellent. 8x9x1. Rare to Find this book in Unread condition with the Author's Letter! Hardback Pictorial Cover (Book was not issued with a Dust Jacket) is in Very Good Plus condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Inside text is unread and unused. This book comes with the Author's letter to "Young Reader", which was issued to members of the "Young Readers of America" club. We have been collecting Landmark books for 20+ years and the "Korea" letters are hard to find (this is probably because most Author's Letters were issued with earlier Landmarks that had Dust Jackets and, therefore, it was easier to retain with the Dust Jacket). Author Letter is in Very Good or better condition and is still in the original tri-folded position. Outside pictorial covers show some minor scuffing and wear primarily to the back cover and wear to the outside corners and edges. A nice collectible book for your collection! This is NOT an ex-library book, but has come from a private collection. A less common title in the Landmark series. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. World Landmark Book #57 In the War in Korea Robert Leckie presents an authentic and lucid account of an unusual conflict which was fought on two battlefields-across the rugged Korean terrain, where troops met in bloody combat, and around conference tables, where truce teams engaged in grueling negotiations to bring about a peace.
