London Adam & Charles Black, 1903 1st Ltd. Edition. 111/250.. Hardback, approx 11 x 8.5 inches. Cream cloth with red and navy blue paneled designs to front and spine with gilt lettering. Beveled edges. Top page edges gilt. In very good condition. Cover with some darkening and handling marks, nicks to cloth at bottom ends of spine, leading corners bumped, cloth chipped on front corners. Endpapers foxed and darkened. Later “Henry Southeran” bookseller label to front. Crease to front endpaper. Signed and numbered by Author. Some areas of moderate foxing to tissue guards and some adjacent pages. Plates all clean and bright. Else a clean and tight copy. 274pp. With 66 full-page plates, mostly in colour, some B&W toned. With many B&W vignette illustrations in text.
