Erich von Däniken caused a stir worldwide with his two first bestsellers "Memories of the Future" and "Back to the Stars". Further works followed, which were no less successful. After the war, he was first specialist correspondent for science and technology at the Südwestfunk (since 1948), then (from 1963 to 1977) SWF chief reporter for radio and television. He has received numerous awards and distinctions. In addition to journalistic work, he wrote several radio plays and audio sequences, documentaries , popular science non-fiction and science fiction novels (including Helium 1949, radio play 1950).
Khuon gained great popularity through the ARD's moon flight reports in the late 1960s / early 1970s. The book he published was also well known. Were the gods astronauts? , in which scientists critically dealt with the theses of Erich von Däniken . However, Khuon was by no means a committed opponent of the study of the history of the past. Von Däniken later became a co-founder of the Archaeology, Astronautics and SETI Research Association (AAS RA). He designed Mystery Park (now known as Jungfrau Park), a theme park located in Interlaken, Switzerland, that opened in May 2003.
