Appears gently read, in original publisher's green cloth with black titles, publisher's red top stain, fraying to spine ends, scuffs, light soiling to covers, foxing throughout pages mostly the first few pages, title page, else pages are clean, unmarked and binding good. Neat previous owners bookplate on first pastedown from private library collection and bookstore sticker on rear pastedown. Lacking only the scarce dust jacket. One of the earliest reprints of the The Warlord of Mars from G&D publishers. First appearance in the 1913 issue pulp magazine The All-Story. Frontispiece illustrated by J. Allen St. John. Classic ERB fantasy adventure novel, a good reading copy. 296 pgs. + [16 pgs Ads.] 8vo.

Synopsis

Far to the north, in the frozen wastes of Polar Mars, lay the home of the Holy Therns, sacred and inviolate. Only John Carter dared to go there to find his lost Dejah Thoris. But between him and his goal lay the bones of all who had gone before.
